Description:
The AD4MAC project is part of Axis 1 (Strengthen research, technological development and innovation) and investment priority 1.b (Promotion of investment by companies in innovation, the development of links and synergies between companies, R&D and higher education centers, especially in the development of products and services, technology transfer, open innovation through intelligent specialization) of the Interreg MAC Program 2014-2020. It is one of 67 approved projects of the 181 projects submitted to the second call of the program.
The project has 14 partners from 4 different regions, of which 8 are FEDER beneficiaries, one is a third-country partner outside the EU and 5 are companies in the agri-food sector. The objective of the project is to promote the circular economy in the management of organic waste and by-products generated by the agricultural and agri-food industries of the Macaronesian Region through anaerobic digestion for biogas production and nutrient recycling. To achieve this, a series of actions will be carried out that include preliminary studies, experimental studies, demonstration facilities and dissemination actions.
